TVS Motor Company recently launched the TVS Apache RTR 160 White Race Edition. This edition features a new white colour scheme with red stripes, among a few other visual changes.
The bike is reaching the market in a phase-wise manner. The TVS Apache RTR 160 White Edition is essentially the standard RTR 160 in new clothes. The bike comes with a white paint job, and red with black racing stripes on the bodywork. The engine cowl comes with ‘TVS Racing stickers’. The fuel tank features a cleaner TVS logo with racing stripes. The single piece seat comes with perforations for the rider for better ventilation. The tail section of the bike bears the RTR 160 logo, and also features split grab rails.
Mechanically, the TVS Apache RTR 160 White Race Edition is identical to the standard variant. The 159.7 cc single cylinder engine with air cooling makes 15.12 PS at 8,500 rpm, and 13.03 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Pairing with a 5-speed transmission, the bike can reach a claimed top speed of 110 kmph.
The double cradle Synchro Stiff frame rides on a telescopic front fork and twin gas-charged MIG shock absorbers at the rear. Brakes include 270 mm petal disc and 130 mm rear drum. A 200 mm rear petal disc variant is an option. The bike rivals with the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar 150 UG5 and Honda X-Blade. The bike costs INR 79,715 for the front disc and rear drum variant; and INR 82,004 for front and rear disc version. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
