2018 Mahindra XUV500 vs 2015 Mahindra XUV500 - Old vs New

Mahindra has given the XUV500 another facelift. The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 is on sale starting today priced from INR 12.32 lakhs to INR 17.88 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). We compare the latest iteration with the pre-facelift model to pinpoint all the changes that have been made.

Exterior

Up front, there is a deeper chrome finish grille with chrome studs flanked by revised headlamp clusters featuring horizontal LED strips in place of the older model's S-shape units. The range-topping W11(O) grade rides on 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. At the back, there is are new wedge shape split tail lamps replacing the vertically stacked units of the outgoing model. The tailgate now houses a wider license plate recess. Other new details include chrome door sills, dual tone skid plate and new D-pillar applique.

Interior

Inside, the Mahindra XUV500 facelift brings with it soft-touch black leather trim on the dashboard, silver finish on gear knob, handbrake and centre console, new quilted tan leather/leatherette upholstery and a piano black centre console.

Specifications

The 2.2 L mHawk petrol engine producing 140 bhp and 320 Nm paired with a 6-speed AT has been carried over as is. The diesel variants are now more powerful and boast a higher torque figure at 155 hp and 360 Nm, which is an increment of 15 hp and 30 Nm respectively. AWD is optional on the W11 (O) manual and automatic variants. There are two transmission choices available across the W7, W9, W11, and W11 (O) grades - 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. The entry-level W5 grade gets only the 6-speed manual gearbox.
