The 2018 Audi RS 5 Coupe sports an all-new 2.9-litre TFSI V6 petrol engine co-developed with Porsche. This bi-turbo mill puts out 331 kW (450 PS) at 5,700-6,700 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 1,900-5,000 rpm. The 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission and the quattro permanent AWD system with self-locking centre differential are standard in the second-gen Audi A5 Coupe’s RS variant. The high-performance gran turismo features dynamic steering and RS sport suspension as well.
A 0-100 km/h sprint in the all-new Audi RS 5 Coupe takes just 3.9 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. Not that it would concern most customers, but for those keen to know, the fuel economy is rated at 10.8 km/l.
The 2018 Audi RS 5 Coupe’s sporty exterior comprises wider and flatter Singleframe grille with quattro branding along the bottom, additional air inlets (front)/outlets (rear), 19-inch 10 star design aluminium forged wheels wrapped in 265/35 R19 tyres and housed in 15 mm wider wheel arches, RS-specific diffuser insert and oval tailpipes. The Audi Exclusive black styling package with black ORVM housing is standard, while Matt aluminium and Carbon styling packages are optional.
Inside, in addition to the typical RS-specific elements related to upholstery and trim inserts, the redesigned Audi RS 5 Coupe boasts Audi Virtual Cockpit with special RS screen. The fully digital instrument cluster displays the information on tyre pressure, torque and g-forces, as well as a shift light to prompt the driver to upshift.
