Nearly a year after its market launch in May last year, the all-new Maruti Dzire is still a strong contender in not just its category but across all segments. It topped the sales charts in February making it the best-selling car for the third consecutive month.
Maruti Suzuki sold 20,941 units of the Maruti Dzire in February 2018. Sales during the same month last year stood much lower, at 16,613 units, although that was probably because of the anticipation of the third-gen model’s arrival. The hatchback the Dzire is based on, the all-new Swift, was the third best-selling car last month this year, registering sales of 17,291 units.
The latest Maruti Dzire is available with the 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine and the 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel engine, in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission or the 5-speed AGS automated manual transmission. The petrol model has a fuel economy rating (ARAI) of 22 km/l. The diesel model, with a fuel economy rating (ARAI) of 28.4 km/l, is the most fuel-efficient one in its segment.
