The new Ford Freestyle has been spotted yet again ahead of its showroom launch in April. The CUV, as Ford terms it, made its global debut in India in January 2018 and will be Ford's second product in the sub-4 m crossover/SUV class.
Images of two units of the Ford Freestyle were shared by Facebook user and Cartoq reader Kapil Joshi. The darker shade is the vehicle's communication colour. The company will commence media activities in the first week of April. As evident from recent images the crossover has already started reaching dealerships.
The Ford Freestyle will debut the 1.2 L 3-cylinder petrol engine. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the engine produces 97 PS and 120 Nm. The diesel variant of the Freestyle borrows the Figo's 1.5 L TDCi unit good for 100 PS and 215 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Apart from the obvious cosmetic enhancements, a noteworthy update is the introduction of SYNC3 infotainment system along with a centrally mounted touchscreen. This dashboard layout will also feature in the updated Ford Figo and Ford Aspire due to launch in the coming months.

The Freestyle might be new to the Indian market, but the name has found use in Ford's history. It was on sale in the North American market between 2005 and 2007 as a crossover, and is a variant nomenclature for Ford globally.
