Maruti Suzuki started accepting pre-orders for the all-new Maruti Swift on 18 January, 2018 and launched the car on the 8th of this month. According to a report from carandbike, the company has received over 60,000 bookings for the all-new hatchback.
The Maruti Swift is no longer a sub-INR 4.5 lakh car. While the second-gen model’s prices initially started at INR 4.22 lakh*, the third-gen model’s prices start at INR 4.99 lakh*. It is worth noting that dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat restraint system are standard in the latter. The new generation model has a localisation level of around 98%. There are 12 different configurations available, with prices going up to INR 8.29 lakh*.
Maruti Suzuki offers two engine choices in the latest Swift: 1.2L VVT petrol and 1.3L DDiS 190 diesel. The petrol engine produces 61 kW (81.77 hp) and 113 Nm of torque. The fuel economy of the petrol model is now 22 km/l, which translates to an improvement of 7.8%. The diesel engine develops 55.2 kW (73.99 hp) and 190 Nm of torque. The diesel model’s fuel economy has improved by 12.7% and is the best in segment now - 28.4 km/l. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission as well as the 5-speed AGS automated manual transmission.

LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 15-inch precision-cut alloy wheels, pillar-mounted rear door handles, LED tail lamps, leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, engine push start-stop button, 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse parking sensors and reverse parking camera are some of the key features of the 2018 Maruti Swift.
