Maruti Suzuki has revealed the 2018 Maruti Swift and announced that its bookings are now open. The all-new Maruti Swift is available to pre-order for an amount of INR 11,000.
The new generation Maruti Swift is underpinned by the fifth-generation Heartect platform. The company promises enhanced rigidity and strength and better NVH levels with the adoption of the new platform. The redesigned model is 40 mm wider and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase, and offers more interior space. The headroom has increased by around 24 mm and the boot space has increased by 58 litres.
The Maruti Swift continues with the 1.2-litre VVT petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel engines in its third generation. In the second-gen model, the petrol engine produces 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque and the diesel engine develops 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki says that the all-new model has retuned versions of these engines, but it is yet to release the figures. 5-speed manual and 5-speed AGS automated are the transmission choices.
Maruti Suzuki offers the new Swift in Lxi, Vxi, Vxi AGS, Zxi, Zxi AGS and ZXi+ (petrol)/Ldi, Vdi, Vdi AGS, Zdi, Zdi AGS and Zdi+ configurations. LED projector headlamps with a signature LED DRL, flat bottom steering, 15-inch precision cut two-tone alloy wheels, urbane satin chrome finish on the instrument panel, steering, doors speedometer rings and Smartplay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink are the features the company has confirmed so far.
