The 2018 Honda CBR650F gets new LED headlight, new air ducts in the fairing, reworked engine, and revised suspension and brakes. The 648.72cc in-line four DOHC engine features new intake and exhaust flow management. This set up helps in offering better breathability and reduction in back pressure. The engine pairs with a new 6-speed short ratio gearbox, which improves the mid-range performance. The powerplant makes 86.6 PS of power at 11,000 rpm and 60.5 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine nestles inside a steel diamond frame.
The front end comes with a new 41 mm Showa Dual Bending Valve (SDBV) type fork. It incorporates a free-valve structure that progressively increases the amount of damping according to the road conditions. The rear monoshock features 7-stage spring preload adjustment and links with the aluminium swingarm. The bike also comes with revised two-piston Nissin front callipers that squeeze twin 320mm petal discs at the front. A single-piston rear 240mm disc is at the rear, and dual-channel ABS is standard. The motorcycle gets a 17.3-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 216 kg, kerb.
The motorcycle is available in Millennium Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. It costs INR 7.3 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2018 Honda CBR650F rivals Kawasaki Ninja 650 in its segment.
