The Energica Eva EsseEsse9 has been showcased at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA.
The Energica Eva EsseEsse9 is the third model of the Italian electric motorcycle company. The bike made its world premiere at 2017 EICMA show in its final version. It is also the brand’s first “old-school” electric motorcycle. The bike’s name is inspired by the real name of Via Emilia, a historic road crossing of the Italian Motor Valley. The motorcycle features a classic design, developed in-house. The bike gets a classic soft-touch seat, and full-LED headlight with DRL.
The instrument cluster is a 4.3-inch TFT display with internal memory for data logging, integrated GPS receiver, and Bluetooth communication. It can also be connected with MYEnergica app. Powering the bike is a 11.7 kWh lithium polymer battery with a life cycle of 1200 cycles at 80% capacity. It takes half an hour to charge till 85% via fast charger (Mode 4), and 3.5 hours to fully charge in Mode 2 or 3. The electric motor is of permanent magnet AC type with oil cooling. The motor is good for 108.7 PS of power and 180 Nm of torque. The combined range stands at 150 km. There are also four riding Modes: Urban, Eco, Rain, Sport, and four regenerative maps: Low, Medium, High, Off.
The 17-inch cast aluminium wheels are shod with Pirelli Phantom tyres. Suspension components include 43 mm Marzocchi front fork with adjustable rebound, compression damping and spring preload. The rear uses Bitubo monoshock with adjustable rebound and spring preload. Brakes include dual 330 mm Brembo discs at the front and a 240 mm Brembo disc at the rear. The price of the Energica Eva EsseEsse9 starts from 21,600 Euros (INR 16.8 lakhs). It is unlikely that the bike will make it to our shores.
