Hyundai has introduced the 2018 Hyundai Verna with a 1.4-litre petrol engine in India. According to a report from Autocar India, the prices of 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.4L petrol start at INR 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
Initially, the all-new Hyundai Verna was available with 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines, with prices starting at INR 8 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). There were four grades to choose from, E, EX, SX and SX (O). As expected, the Hyundai Verna 1.4L petrol is available in only the E and EX grades. The latter’s price is still unknown.
The 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.4L E features power mirrors, 15-inch steel wheels, tilt steering, cooled glovebox, rear armrest, 5.0-inch touchscreen audio system with four speakers, cruise control, rear AC vents, dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD. It is worth noting that a 5.0-inch touchscreen audio system, rear AC vents and cruise control aren’t available in the 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.6L (petrol/diesel) E.
The 1.4-litre petrol engine in question is likely the Kappa MPi four-cylinder unit that produces 100 PS at 6,000 rpm and 13.5 kg.m (132 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission choices for India are unknown, but internationally, Hyundai offers 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic units.
