Inside, the facelifted model gets a new three-spoke steering wheel, a more intuitive instrument panel with a MID housed between the tachometer and speedometer, horizontal HVAC vents (central) and controls, a free-standing touchscreen display running Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite navigation with 3D maps, two USB ports and a reverse parking camera.
With the facelift, the Ford EcoSport has received a new 137.2 cv (137.2 hp) 1.5-litre TiVCT three-cylinder engine as a replacement of the 1.6-litre Sigma engine. This unit is from the new Dragon engine family. Also new is a 170 hp 2.0-litre GDI unit paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine will replace the 2.0-litre Duratec unit of the outgoing model.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport will go on sale in Argentina this September, while a launch in Brazil is scheduled for this August. As for the Indian market, the new EcoSport is expected to arrive by this Diwali, with no changes to the engine options (112 PS 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol, 125 PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol and 100 PS 1.5-litre TDCi).
