The India-bound Ford Ecosport (facelift) has made its Chinese debut more than a week back, ahead of its public showcase and price announcement at the Auto Shanghai 2017 this week.
The facelift is identical to the model unveiled at the last LA Auto Show, featuring a redesigned trapezoidal radiator grille flanked by bigger headlamps, sharp-edged fog lamps, and revised bumpers. Exclusive to China, Brazil and Indian markets is the tailgate-mounted spare wheel with a body-painted wheel cover.

Under the hood, the China-spec Ford EcoSport will pack a 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine with 173 hp, and is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A 4WD system and independent rear suspension are equipped in the China-spec EcoSport.
Production of the new EcoSport will begin later this year in Chennai for the Indian market. The plant has won the contract to make the model for the US market where it goes on sale early next year, but production of the Euro-spec EcoSport will shift out to Romania with the facelift's introduction.
