The Ford EcoSport facelift launch will take place on November 9, 2017, reports Autocar India. The updated version of the compact SUV comes armed with a redesigned exterior and interior along with new engine and transmission options.
The major changes to the exterior design will be restricted to the front section of the EcoSport. The facelift features a chrome lined single piece grille along with broader headlamp units. Projector headlights and LED DRLs will be offered on the higher end trims. Towards the rear, the only noticeable change is the new spare wheel cover. Exterior changes will also include new alloy wheels. Dual tone paint schemes, black headlamp inserts, 17-inch alloy wheels will be a part of a new Titanium S trim package.
Inside, the dashboard gets a redesigned centre console that houses a floating touchscreen with SYNC 3 support. The instrument console and steering wheel are new as well. Interior space will remain the same as the current model.
Ford will offer the EcoSport facelift with the new locally built 1.5 L Dragon petrol engine. This three-cylinder naturally aspirated mill puts out 123 PS and 150 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. Power is sent to the front wheel via either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. While the 1.5 L TDCi diesel is likely to be carried over unchanged, there is no word on the availability of the 1.0 L EcoBoost petrol engine under the hood of the 2018 Ford EcoSport.

The refresh is expected to arrive at a similar price point as the current model. Prices should fall between 7 and 11 lakh Rupees ex-showroom. The updates should help the Ford EcoSport respond to new entrants Tata Nexon and Honda WR-V, which have received a commendable response in the Indian market.
