Boon Siew Honda, Honda’s authorised distributor in Malaysia has launched the updated 2018 Honda CB500X in the country. Prices start from RM 31,893 (INR 5,01,319) including GST, and excluding road tax, insurance, and registration.
The 2018 Honda CB500X features subtle changes to the body graphics. The motorcycle comes in three colours: Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, Candy Chromosphere Red, and Force Silver Metallic. Honda has designed the motorcycle based on the design concept- ‘Feel the Adventure form’. The 2018 Honda CB500X features LED headlight and tail light. According to Boon Siew Honda’s Deputy Chairman & Deputy CEO, Dato’Sri Datuk Wira Tan Hui Jing, Honda BigWing is set to open in four cities: Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Johor in 2018.

The 471 cc parallel twin DOHC mill is the same as the 2017 version, and so is the diamond type frame. The engine produces 50.3 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. A six-speed gearbox does duty on the adventure bike. The fuel tank is slightly bigger (0.8 litres) than the 2018 CBR500R and the CB500F, at 17.5 litres. The engine pairs with a six-speed transmission and returns 29.4 km/l, as per WMTC mode.
Cycle parts include telescopic front fork with adjustable preload, and pro-link monoshock with 9-stage adjustable preload. The motorcycle comes to a halt using petal disc on both ends, with optional dual-channel ABS. The ABS variant costs RM 35,391 with GST (INR 5,56,304). The 2018 Honda CB500X comes with a two-year/ 20,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. The motorcycle will be available from January 2018.
