Gaadiwaadi reports that the upcoming 125 cc scooter from Hero MotoCorp will make its debut on December 18.
It was reported in September that the upcoming scooter will have classic design lines to cater to the retro scooter segment. The scooter will also reportedly be unisex in design, and will be priced aggressively in the market. Expect it to undercut the 125cc Vespa range by a considerable extent. The launch of the scooter will likely happen in early 2018 in India; and the expected price would be INR 60,000, ex-showroom. The launch would be in line with Hero's plan of launching 3 two-wheelers this fiscal. The website also reports that Hero MotoCorp will debut the production version of the Hero XTreme 200S, and a 110cc Passion Pro.

Currently in the mass-market 125cc scooter space, only Suzuki offers retro-looking scooter in the form of the Access 125. Piaggio’s Vespa range (SXL 125 and VXL 125) are on the higher-end of the price spectrum.
Honda’s Activa 125 is conservatively designed, targeting the commuter. Honda has recently launched a sporty and modern-looking 125cc scooter, the Grazia. According to the Japanese brand, the Activa 125 takes up 43% in the 125cc scooter market; while the Suzuki Access 125 has a 50% share. This segment offers the ripe opportunity for Hero MotoCorp to exploit by pricing the upcoming product competitively. Moreover, with 6,000 service centres, Hero has a greater reach in the country than Suzuki, and it could very well work in its favour. Expect more details about the scooter once it debuts.
