The Maruti Suzuki Baleno has grabbed the second spot on the top 10 best sellers list for the month of July. With a total of 19,153 units sold, the Baleno bagged the first runner up spot for the second time after March 2017. The list is dominated by Maruti Suzuki with seven out of ten spots taken up by its products.
Since its launch in October 2015, the Baleno has constantly figured in the top 10 best seller list and has sold more than 200,000 units till date. Despite the increase in production of the Baleno via the Gujarat plant, the demand for the hatchback is such that it still commands a waiting period of around 16 weeks.

The Baleno has managed to comfortably outpace its chief rival, Hyundai Elite i20 over the past six months. Maruti leads Hyundai by over 2,700 units in terms of monthly sales average over the last six month. In July, the Baleno raced ahead clocking 19,153 units against the Elite i20's 11,390 unit sales.

Maruti Suzuki offers the Baleno with a choice of 1.2 L K12 Petrol and 1.3 L DDiS diesel engines with a 5-speed manual as standard. A CVT is offered with the petrol variant in the Delta, Zeta and the newly added Alpha trim. Additionally, customers looking for a bit more performance can opt for the RS variant, which is powered by a 1.0 L Boosterjet petrol that churns out 75 kW of max power and 150 Nm of peak torque. Prices of the Baleno start at INR 5.26 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
