A report from The Economic Times states that Hero MotoCorp is developing an off-road motorcycle of around 200cc displacement, and will be launched in mid-FY 2018-2019 (late 2018).
In a conversation with the media brand, Pawan Munjal, CMD, Hero MotoCorp said:
We are going to have enhanced focus on the two growing segments — scooters and premium motorcycles — with new products. In the current fiscal (FY18), we are looking at aggressive market share gains to consolidate leadership, without compromising on the bottom line and our margins.

Hero has identified the premium segment as one of its top priorities; and multiple motorcycles in the 200cc range have been planned. It was earlier reported that a completely new 200cc motorcycle will be launched this fiscal year. The motorcycle in question is the Hero XTreme 200S. The other 200cc motorcycle under development, being the off-roader, is likely to be a more powerful version of the Hero Impulse.

The Hero impulse was launched in October 2011, and in March this year, the bike was taken off the brand’s website. The lack of demand led to the axing of the product. The customer feedback was that the bike needed more power.
Apart from premium motorcycles, Hero is also planning a premium scooter in the first quarter of 2018. Additionally, two new scooters are also reportedly to hit the market in the next financial year.
