Datsun has launched the Datsun Redi-GO 1.0L in India, with prices starting at INR 3,57,333 (ex-showroom India). Deliveries of the new engine model commence today at Nissan dealerships nationwide.
The Datsun Redi-GO 0.8L is offered in D, A, T, T(O) and S grades. The Datsun Redi-GO 1.0L's availability is limited to the high-end T(O) and S grades. LED DRLs, central locking, keyless entry, black interior with silver finish on the AC vents and horn pad, and driver-side airbag are some of the noteworthy features the Redi-GO 1.0L.
As expected, the Datsun Redi-GO 1.0L shares its 1.0L petrol engine with the Renault Kwid 1.0L. While Renault calls it 1.0-litre SCe (Smart Control Efficiency), Datsun goes with its i-SAT branding. This unit produces 68 PS at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. These figures are unchanged from the Renault offering. However, in the Redi-GO 1.0L, a 5-speed manual transmsission is standard and there's no AMT option. The Redi-GO's fuel economy rating is 22.5 km/l, slightly less than the Kwid's (23.01 km/l).
