The customisation is done by Miraj-based The Transporter.
Miraj-based The Transporter off-road vehicle customiser has introduced a new off-road package for the Mahindra Thar, which comprises of a slew of off-road spec accessories that should help unleash the full potential of the vehicle off the road.
Some of the accessories include Maxxis Bighorn MT tire, steel wheels, snorkel with metal pipe connector, custom front bumper with winch plate, custom rear bumper, external roll cage with black powder coating, roof carrier, mini ladder, front facing bench seat/bed, 10 ton Pintle Tow hook, U shackles, plastic diesel jerry can, 4 feet flag antenna, upgraded leaf spring suspension, rear metal door with glass, 8 inch LED bars, 7-inch LED fog lights, roof-top tent, music system with speakers and central locking.
Under the hood is the familiar 2.5-litre CRDe engine, which doesn't appear to have received any upgrades. In stock configuration, it develops 79 kW (105 bhp) at 3,800 rpm and 247 Nm of torque between 1,800-2,000 rpm, which generates power for all four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
