Tata Motors's Maruti Vitara Brezza challenger set to arrive in October 2017.
Tata Motors introduced the Tata Nexon Geneva edition at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show held last month. In a video of the Tata Nexon Geneva edition and Tata Tigor Geneva edition, the crossover is seen in different body colours.
The Tata Nexon (codename: Tata X104) is the company's confirmed entrant for the sub-compact SUV segment that is on the rise in India. Set to lock horns with the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport, the sub-4 metre SUV rides on the Tata Zest's X1 platform.
The production Tata Nexon hasn't deviated much from the concept version revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo. Penned around the IMPACT design language, the B-SUV measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and 1,607 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,498 mm and a ground clearance of 200 mm. Tata Motors will offer the Tata Nexon with an all-new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. The company may offer AMT at some point in the Nexon's lifecycle.
