Toyota has launched a sporty variant of the facelifted Toyota Corolla Altis as the Toyota Corolla Altis X in Taiwan. The facelifted Toyota Corolla Altis X is much sportier and aggressive than the pre-facelift model introduced last year. Here are images from the launch, courtesy u-car.
On the outside, the 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis X sports a more dynamic and angular front bumper with a stylish spoiler, reshaped air dam grille, repositioned front fog lamps, 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, side skirts, rear underbody spoiler and a shark fin antenna. The car’s interior has a black theme, complemented by red highlights on the steering wheel, centre console, air vents and door panels, as well as red stitching on the steering wheel cover, dashboard and centre console cover, seat covers and gearshift cover.
The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis X is 4,640 mm long, 1,775 mm wide and 1,460 mm tall. It is 20 mm longer than the regular 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis. Under the hood, is the same 2ZR-FE 1.8-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine as in the rest of the range. This four-cylinder mill produces 140 PS at 6,400 rpm, and 17.6 kg.m (172.60 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. A. continuously variable transmission sends the drive to the wheels. Paddle shifters are there for manual shifts. The Corolla Altis X is equipped with a sports suspension and high-performance shock absorbers. The fuel economy is rated at 15.6 km/l.

The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis X retails at NT$7,79,000 (INR 16,75,852.44) in Taiwan.
