Goes on sale in USA in Fall 2016.
Update - Official reveal video has been embedded in the story.
GM has revealed the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback ahead of its world premiere at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The second generation Cruze hatchback is the American cousin to the European Opel Astra, and rides on the same D2XX platform. In USA, it will be available exclusively with a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 153 hp and 177 lb.-ft. (240 Nm) of torque.
In terms of design and styling, the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback mainly differs from the Chevrolet Cruze sedan with its unique roof, and at the rear, with a very expressive look, thanks to the distinctive taillamp graphics, more fluidic bumper, integrated spoiler and sporty exhaust outlet.
The wheelbase is the same, "class-leading" 106.3-inch (2,700 mm) as the sedan version. With rear seats unfolded, the hatchback version offers 18.5 ft³ (524 liters) of cargo space, and when folded, this number increases to 42 ft³ (1,189 liters).
Noteworthy features of the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback include halogen projector-beam headlamps with LED daytime running lights, MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Park Assist.
The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback will go on sale in USA in Fall 2016. While reports indicate that GM India will launch the all-new Cruze in 2017, for markets like India, the hatchback will not be offered.
