Will go into production in late-2016.
Chevrolet has unveiled the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, the production version of the Chevrolet Bolt EV concept, at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas. Borrowing styling cues from the 2016 Chevrolet Volt, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt remains close to the concept it evolves from. As promised with the concept’s introduction in Detroit last year, Chevrolet has announced that the production version offers a driving range of more than 200 miles (322 km).
CES being a technological convention, Chevrolet revealed mainly the technological features of the Bolt. A few measurements have been released though. The EV has a wheelbase of 102.4-inches (2,600 mm) and 16.9 ft³ (478 liters) of cargo space. The full technical specifications are expected to be revealed at the 2016 North American International Motor Show in Detroit next week.
Noteworthy features of the EV include LED headlamps, LED taillamps, 10.2-inch MyLink infotainment featuring customizable, widget-based “flip-board style” operation, Bluetooth (low-energy) connectivity, OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, Surround Vision, side-by-side cupholders in the center console, wireless charging and a sliding armrest hiding a storage compartment of size enough to keep a tablet.
There’s also an all-new MyChevrolet Mobile App which allows remotely gaining information and doing functions like knowing vehicle charge status, Onstar Map service, remote start, cabin pre-conditioning, accessing owner’s manual information and dealer service scheduling. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt will go into production in late-2016 at GM’s Orion Assembly facility, near Detroit in Michigan, USA.
