For those who feel the need to increase the aggression of their 2017 Audi TT RS by a notch, Audi Sport has introduced a range of Performance Parts that covers suspension, exhaust system, exterior and interior. An example with the parts fitted was showcased at the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt.
The TT RS' exterior kits can be upgraded with Audi Sport's Aero kit (as featured in the show car). It includes highlights on the front air inlets, the side sills and the diffuser that are claimed to improve downforce, a front splitter and flics at the front, a large fixed rear wing and an engine hood housing a large air vent. All parts are made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and plastic, featuring the Audi Sport logo. Also available is an Akrapovic d.d. exhaust system with an ultralight muffler made of titanium for the TT RS.
Inside, accessories available from Audi Sport include Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with a red 12 o’clock marking, CFRP shift paddles, and a strut cross brace made out of CFRP. It replaces the rear seats, reduces the kerb weight by around 20 kilograms and enhances the body's torsional rigidity.
For customers looking for suspension upgrades, Audi Sport offers two- or three-way coilover suspension and fully milled, black 20-inch wheels taken straight from motor racing. They reduce weight by up to 7.2 kilograms on the Audi TT. Audi TT RS owners can also subsequently increase their car’s top speed to 280 km/h. As for the braking system, the standard steel front brake discs can be had with multiple bolt mountings, as well as various brake cooling kits. Sport brake linings for steel discs and optional ceramic brakes can also be spec'd.
Under the hood is a 2.5L five-cylinder TFSI that produces 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque available between 1,700 and 5,850 rpm. It is paired with a 7-speed S-Tronic and Quattro AWD system and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds (stock configuration).
