Last week, Audi unveiled the second generation Audi A5 Sportback and Audi S5 Sportback, both of which will go on sale in Germany and other European countries in early 2017. The 2017 Audi A5 Sportback measures 4,733 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width and 1,386 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,824 mm. The 2017 Audi S5 Sportback measures 4,752 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width and 1,384 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. Matrix LED headlights, dynamic turn signals, frameless doors, 19-inch wheels and 3D LED tail lights form the exterior highlights.
The interior has been completely redesigned and offers more space now. The interior length has been increased by 17 mm, the shoulder room has been increased by 9 mm for the driver and 11 mm for the front passenger, and the knee room has been increased by 24 mm. Noteworthy interior features are ambient lighting with 30 colour choices, Audi virtual cockpit fully-digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch display, 8.3-inch Audi MMI infotainment system and 755-watt, 19-speaker 3D Bang & Olufsen Sound System.
Engine & Transmission
The 2017 Audi A5 Sportback will be available with two TFSI and three TDI diesel engines with outputs ranging from 140 kW (187.67 hp) to 210 kW (281.50 hp). Audi has increased their power output by up to 17%, while simultaneously reducing their fuel consumption by up to 22%. The 2017 Audi S5 Sportback sports a 3.0-litre TFSI turbocharged V6 petrol engine good for 260 kW (354 PS) and 500 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual, 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed tiptronic.
