Toyota C-HR compact SUV to launch in Q1 2017 – Australia

Toyota has revealed the Australia spec Toyota C-HR and announced that the it will go on sale in Q1 2017. The C-HR’s first markets will be Japan and the UK, where sales commence towards the end of 2016.
The Toyota C-HR will be available in two grades in Australia; the base grade won’t have a specific name, while the top-end grade will be called ‘Koba’ as a tribute to the car’s global chief engineer, Hiroyuki Koba.
Standard features include automatic emergency braking, pre-collision system with autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering control, automatic high beam and a reversing camera. The top-end Koba grade will feature privacy glass, 18-inch wheels, heated seats and a keyless entry and start system. Other features of the AU-spec C-HR revealed by Toyota include a 6.1-inch touchscreen display, new two-tiered front-seat design and piano black and satin silver trim with clear blue illumination for the instruments and switches.
The Australian spec Toyota C-HR will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 kW (113.94 hp) and 185 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. All-wheel drive option will be available only with the CVT.
