Exclusive to the Russian market.
Volkswagen Russia will introduce a new variant of the VW Polo sedan (VW Vento in India) for the Russian market, dubbed as the VW Polo GT sedan.
It's clear from the letters 'GT' that it is a performance-oriented variant of the VW Polo sedan. The exterior adopts sportier bumpers that seem to be sourced from the VW Polo GTI hatchback, as well as a honeycomb front grille, gloss black roof and side mirror caps, a subtle boot lid spoiler, dual exhaust pipes and a set of 16-inch wheels.
According to Cars.ru, the first 300 customers who opt for the white or silver exterior color can get the black and red stripes on the hood and boot lid for free, as seen in the image above. Inside, the Polo GT features side sills with the GT logo, a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, tartan seat upholstery and aluminium pedals. As for equipment, it comes with climate control, power windows for all doors and heated front seats as standard.

Under the hood is a 1.4 litre TSI engine that outputs 125 PS, and is paired to a six-speed manual transmission as standard. A seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox is also available as an option, and it sends power to the front wheels only.
It's unclear if Volkswagen India will introduce its Indian equivalent - the VW Vento GT - in the country, given that performance-oriented mid-size sedans don't have much demand here. As of now, the segment is expected to get the Fiat Linea 125s, which will launch for sale this year.
