Mahindra Automotive Australia has confirmed that the top-end Mahindra XUV500 W10 grade and XUV500 AT variant will launch in the country in May. Currently, the XUV500 is only available in W8 specification with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The XUV500 W10 will introduce a levy of new equipment not available in the W8 trim. It features a reversing camera with guide line, offline GPS-guided navigation displayed on a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity, cruise control, climate control, tyre pressure monitoring, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights, start-stop button, Mahindra's Blue Sense system.
The interior is finished in black and upholstered in leather. The interior sees Icy Blue Lounge Lighting, aluminium pedal covers, illuminated scuff plates and a sunroof.

Under the hood is a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mHawk 140 engine which outputs 140 PS and 330Nm of torque. The standard gearbox is a 6-speed unit, while a new Aisin-sourced 6-Speed automatic gearbox will also be introduced for Australia. The W10 grade comes with Mahindra's Micro Hybrid system, which has a regenerative braking system and start-stop that help the XUV500 use as little as 6.7 litres of diesel per 100 km.
