Toyota has launched the 2016 Toyota SW4 (Toyota Fortuner) in Argentina, which is available in SRX 4x4 Manual and SRX 4x4 Automatic variants that are priced from 883,400 pesos and 932.800 pesos, respectively. It is manufactured at Toyota's plant in Zarate, Argentina.
The new SW4 measures 4,795 mm long (90 mm longer than the outgoing model) but has the same wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Exterior features include sleek projector headlights with LED daytime running lamps and LED taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, shark fin antenna, ORVM-integrated turn signals, and an electric tailgate.
The interior comes with leather upholstery and is equipped with a new multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel, TFT-screen for MID in the new instrument cluster, 8-way electric driver’s seat, 7-inch touchscreen entertainment system, chilled glovebox, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable door mirrors with power folding function, engine Start/Stop button paired with Smart Key entry, and cruise control.

Based on a re-inforced ladder frame platform from the 2016 Toyota Hilux, power is sourced from an all new 2.8-liter GD turbodiesel engine that produces 177 hp. Torque figure varies with the transmission choice – 420 Nm with a six-speed manual gearbox and 450 Nm with a six-speed automatic. A 4WD system is standard on both variants of the model.
The 2016 Fortuner is expected to launch in India in 2017.
