Gets the new GD diesel engine.
Here is the first image of the rear of the 2016 Toyota Innova which is expected to have its world premiere in Indonesia on November 23.
The design of the taillights is a radical departure from the current Innova, whose light enclosures appear sober in comparison to the new model. However, like the current Innova, the 2016 Innova too sports a low loading lip, a larger almost-rectangular windscreen with a wiper/washer and a spoiler.
As details of the 2016 Innova continue to trickle on the internet, we know thus far that the second generation of the popular MPV will be available in three variants for the Indonesian market. Starting from the entry-level 'G', to the mid variant 'V' and top-end 'Q', Toyota has equipped them with ABS, EBD and three airbags (dual front+driver knee) as standard.
Also, Toyota will offer their latest 2.4-liter GD four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler developing 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 36.7 kgm of torque on the AT variant and 34.9 kgm of torque on the MT variants. The petrol engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i producing 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 18.7 kgm of torque at 4,700 rpm. Both engine variants get an option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
