Diesel variant to be powered by the all-new GD series diesel engine.
The petrol model of the Toyota Innova had been dominating the diesel version in Indonesia, in the ratio 7:3, according to Grace Samulo, Marketing Director of Toyota-Astra Motor. He recently told Auto Bild Indonesia that the sales ratio of petrol to diesel versions of the 2016 Toyota Innova may not turn out to be much different.
It is to be noted that the company is replacing the KD range of diesel engines with the all-new GD engine family on products including the upcoming Innova. In other words, the 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines are being replaced with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre motors respectively. In case of the Innova, only the 2.4-litre motor will be offered. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre unit.
