Reported to premiere later this month in Indonesia.
Indonesian website Autonetmagz reports that the 2016 Toyota Innova will come with ABS as standard, in order to comply with a future Indonesian regulation.
The publication also states that Toyota will take the new Innova further upmarket with the introduction of a new 'Q' variant with Captains chairs for the second row. Captains chairs for the second row are already available as an option on the Innova in India, though with the addition of more comfort features, like a DVD player and leather upholstery, Toyota could justify a business case for the model.
While ABS is not part of the current Innova's standard kit, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) offers dual front airbags as standard. On the 2016 Innova though, the top-end variant is reported to get 7 airbags including one for the driver's knee.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will be the third recipient of Toyota's new 'GD' diesel engine family, which consists of 2.4- and 2.8-liter units. In addition to a diesel engine, the 2016 Innova will also continue to be offered with a petrol engine in select Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
