3.5-litre V6 petrol engine gets discontinued.
Toyota has launched the 2016 Toyota Estima (facelift) in Japan with prices ranging from ¥3,271,418 to 3,700,473 (INR 20,35,302.66 to 23,02,237.91) for the standard variant and from ¥4,311,163 to 4,928,727 (INR 26,82,176.82 to 30,66,392.36) for the hybrid variant. As expected, the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine has been discontinued with the introduction of the facelifted model.
The standard 2016 Toyota Estima (facelift) is powered by the 2AZ-FE 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 125 kW (170 PS) and 224 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels or all four wheels via the Super CVT-I gearbox. The maximum power and maximum torque figures have remained unchanged from the previous model.
The 2016 Toyota Estima Hybrid (facelift) has the 2AZ-FXE 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine married to two electric motors - 2JM and 2FM. The combustion engine develops 110 kW (150 PS) and 190 Nm of torque, while the 2JM and 2FM electric motors generate 105 kW (143 PS) and 270 Nm and 50 kW (68 PS) and 130 Nm respectively. Here too, the maximum power and maximum torque figures have remained unchanged from the previous model. Power is sent to all four wheels via an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission.
