To debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Germany's AutoBild magazine is carrying a very accurate render of the 2016 Skoda Superb on the cover of its latest issue. The car is to be unveiled in Prague on the 17th of this month.
The 2016 Skoda Superb is going to be unveiled this month, while a public appearance will be made at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month. But before that, World Car Fans has published a rendering of the luxury sedan.
Unlike previous renderings, this looks less aggressive but larger and more premium than the outgoing model. The front end still has cues from the VisionC concept, and the thick C-pillar gives the car an Octavia-like look.
Recapitulating reports, the car will be longer by 20 mm but more importantly, the 80 mm increase in wheelbase will be more essential for occupants. Removal of the twin-release trunk for a more conventional Octavia-like hatch is something Skoda confirmed for the car.
The car will be based on the same platform (Volkswagen's MQB architecture) as the India-bound VW Passat B8, but will be longer, as predicted in an earlier report. In comparison to the outgoing version, while engine options are likely to be the same 4-cylinder petrol and diesel units, the car will be lighter by up to 75 kg.
