Proton started accepting bookings for the 2016 Proton Persona in Malaysia yesterday. According to a report from Paultan, the 2016 Proton Persona will cost between RM 47,000-61,000 (INR 7,87,271.54-10,21,777.95) in Peninsular Malaysia and between RM 49,000-63,000 (INR 8,20,772.45-10,55,278.87) in Sabah and Sarawak.
The Proton Iriz-based small sedan will be sold in four trim levels: Standard, Executive, Premium and Premium SE. ABS with EBD and BA, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Hold Assist (HHA) and Isofix child seat anchors will be standard across the range. Key features of the Standard grade include dual airbags, 15-inch alloy wheels, power adjustable door mirrors and single-DIN multimedia system with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Executive grade features body-coloured door mirrors and handles, front fog lamps, bootlid spoiler, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, double-DIN multimedia system and two USB charging ports. The Premium grade's highlights are six airbags, power folding door mirrors, Android-based colour touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and reversing camera. The Premium SE trim level makes the car sportier with a two-tone body kit.

The 2016 Proton Persona is powered by the Proton Iriz's 1.6-litre VVT naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that develops 107 hp at 5,750 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The entry-level, Standard grade will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission, while the rest of the range will offer the latter as standard.
