The new XF will be based on the iQ platform.
Britain's What Car magazine reports that the next generation Jaguar XF will be receiving its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April 2015, before starting sales in Europe in autumn. The report reads that the new XF will be based on the same chassis components as the smaller XE, and would be powered by the new range of Ingenium engines.
Company sources have told the publication that the look of the new XF will be sleeker and sharper than that of the current generation model, and overall the car will look more 'sporty'. Inside, the 2016 XF will get the new touchscreen infotainment and connectivity system seen on the XE.
The highlight of the new XF will be the aluminium intensive iQ chassis, which should significantly shed some weight of the car.
