The new 1.9 Ddi engine produces 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed Sport Shift gearbox. However, the headline figure of the new D-Max is the carbon emissions, which is rated at 161g/km for the commercial-oriented Spark body type.
The bigger 3.0 turbodiesel option is retained in the facelifted D-Max, which produces 177 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
Compared to the 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that it replaces, the 1.9 Ddi engine is claimed to be 10 per cent more powerful, has 9.4 per cent more torque, 8.2 per cent faster in 0-100 km/h acceleration and has a significant 19 per cent improvement in fuel economy.
The exterior features an updated front-end that has a more aggressive dual-slat grille, redesigned headlight clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights and new 18-inch wheels for the top-spec variant
Inside, it is equipped with an optional eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Isuzu Connect, and a new TFT multi-information display between the instrument dials. It also has roof-mounted loudspeakers (world's first for pickups), and an Isuzu Insight economy driving app that can now be downloaded into smartphones.
