More expensive than the sedan by USD 410.
The 2016 Honda Civic Coupe will be available at showrooms in the USA from March 15. The model will have a starting price of USD 19,050 (INR 12.80 lakhs) which is USD 410 (INR 27,554) more expensive than the entry-level Honda Civic sedan.
The two-door variant debuted at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. It has a longer hood, longer wheelbase, lower hip point, lower roofline, short front overhang, wider body and wider track widths.
The 2016 Honda Civic Coupe comes with more premium features as standard compared to the sedan including 16-inch alloy wheels, LED DRLs, automatic headlights, reverse parking camera, 60:40 split rear seat, electronic parking brake, automatic climate control and colour display for music system.
The model gets the 2.0-litre motor as standard that produces 158 hp, which is 15 hp more than its predecessor. The 1.5-litre turbo variant featuring 174 hp and a stick shift (manual transmission) is expected to be introduced at a later stage. Both engines are said to deliver 35 miles per gallon (14.89 km/l).
Honda designer Guy Melville Brown said during the unveiling of the Civic Coupe in Honda's design studio in downtown Los Angeles, "this is the sportiest, most tech-savvy coupe we've ever made."
