Will make its debut on June 24.

General Motors will be unveiling the second generation Chevrolet Cruze for the North American market tomorrow. Ahead of its debut, the company has revealed the final production-spec dashboard design of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze in a video that talks about the car's support for Apple CarPlay.

Design mirrors that of the China-only model, save for different interior color combinations.

The dashboard design is identical to the one revealed for the Chinese-spec model. It gets a dual cockpit design, up-scale leather upholstery and trim, new 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel in-front of two instrument dials and a large MID in-between. Chevrolet will offer a 7-inch MyLink infotainment display as standard for the 2016 Cruze, as well as an optional 8-inch MyLink display for top variants.

GM had also teased the exterior design of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, which looks sharper and more aggressive than the subtle China-exclusive Cruze. It is based on an all new D2XX FWD platform, which replaces the Delta II platform of the outgoing model.

Although the company did not divulge exact powertrain details, they have confirmed that the 2016 Cruze will come with new engines and transmission. The Chinese-spec Cruze offers two four-cylinder petrol engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit delivering 112 PS (110.42 bhp) and a range-topping 1.4-litre turbocharged motor which generates 148 PS (145.9 bhp).

The base engine comes with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the 1.4 turbo petrol is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze will continue to roll out from GM’s Lordstown, Ohio plant, as well as the firm’s revamped Coahuila facility in Mexico. Prospective customers will have to wait until early next year for the next generation model to hit showrooms. GM India is yet to confirm a launch timeframe for the new Cruze though.
