Two new colours have been added to the exterior palette.
Mitsubishi Motors has showcased the Mitsubishi Mirage facelift at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. The facelift was unveiled at the 2015 LA Auto Show last month and gets revisions to the exterior and interior.
The outside of the Mirage has witnessed a lot of changes giving it a sleek and sporty look. The strip-like grille has been done away with to accommodate a larger unit. The face also bears redesigned headlamps with angular LED DRLs, foglamps and hood. The flanks only have redesigned wheels to show while the rear view gains a modified bumper and revised tail lights. Two new body colours have been added in the guise of Wine Red and Sunrise Orange. Mitsubishi says that the body has been aerodynamically optimised and the drag coefficient has reduced to 0.27.
The interior witnesses changes as well but not as dramatic as the exterior. The cabin is updated with new seat fabrics, shift panel, steering wheel and instrument cluster. A new 300 Watt Rockford-Fosgate audio system is available with Smartphone Link Display Audio having support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, depending on the market.
Under the hood is the same 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine that is now endowed with a roller-type camshaft pushing out 78 hp and 74 lb.-ft. (100 Nm) of peak torque. The brakes have also been upgraded and now boast of 251 mm discs at the front and brake drums bigger by 23 mm at the rear.
The Mitsubishi Mirage facelift comes with a lot of standard safety features in the USA that include seven airbags, four-wheel ABS, ASC (Active Stability Control), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
