Update - Interior images of the 2016 Jaguar XF added to the gallery.
Lighter by 190 kg thanks to an aluminium-rich platform.
The 2016 Jaguar XF is on display at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA), alongside the all-new Jaguar F-Pace SUV and the Jaguar XE sedan. All three cars are based on the new aluminium-intensive iQ platform, signaling the start of a new era for the 80-year old brand.
Sales of the new XF started in its home market in the U.K. last month, with prices ranging from GBP 32,300 to GBP 49,945 (INR 32.3 lakhs to INR 49 lakhs). At launch, the XF is available with a 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 163 bhp and 380 Nm of torque on the base variants, and 180 bhp and 430 Nm of torque on the higher variants.
Next up is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel developing 300 bhp and 700 Nm of torque, while an even powerful F-Type derived 3.0-liter supercharged V6 petrol develops 380 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. All engines see an 8-speed automatic transmission, though the Ingenium diesel is also available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Other features include a 10.2-inch touchscreen InControl infotainment system, an 828 Watt Meridian sound system, 17 speakers and full LED headlights.
With an overall weight loss of 190 kg, and an extended wheelbase of 51 mm over its predecessor, the new XF will rival the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and Mercedes E Class when it is introduced in India in 2016.
