Gets a panoramic sunroof as standard.
Apart from introducing the B Class facelift, Mercedes-Benz India today launched the 2015 model year A Class. The 2015 A Class will be available in India with two engine options. The A180 Sport carries on with the existing 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged motor making 121 bhp and 200 Nm of torque.
However, the A200 CDI - though using the same 2.2-liter diesel engine as the A180 CDI - now produces 134 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, just like the updated B Class and new CLA Class.
The A180 Sport petrol is priced at INR 25.95 lakhs, while the A200 CDI costs INR 26.95 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Mumbai. Mercedes-Benz is also offering a panoramic sunroof as standard on the 2015 model year A Class. Also, the A Class range features a newly designed 16-inch alloy wheel.
Unlike the B Class facelift, the A Class continues with its existing NTG (New Telematics Generation) system. Models such as the A Class and B Class (termed NGCC - New Generation Compact Cars) account for 20 percent of Mercedes-Benz India's sales.
Globally, Mercedes is working on a mid-life facelift for the A Class, which is expected to be revealed this year.
