Gets LED lighting technology.
Mercedes-Benz India today launched the 2015 B Class (facelift). Having received its public debut at the Paris Motor Show last year, the facelifted B Class is on sale in the Indian market with a petrol and a diesel engine. The B Class facelift is priced at INR 27.95 lakhs for the B180 petrol and INR 28.95 lakhs for the B200 CDI, ex-Showroom, Mumbai.
The 2015 petrol B Class continues to be powered by the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 121 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. While the 2015 diesel B Class retains the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine of its predecessor, power and torque outputs have been upped.
It now makes 134 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, whereas the pre-facelift B Class had only 107 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Irrespective of the engine, the B Class gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels.
Cosmetic changes come in the form of a redesigned front fascia with new headlights, a new grille and a redone front bumper. Interestingly, Mercedes is offering LED headlights even on the Indian B Class, making it the most affordable car in India with LED lighting. Re-profiled taillights and a new underlip for the rear bumper complete the list of exterior changes.
Inside, a new steering wheel (similar to the CLA Class), an instrument cluster borrowed from the new C Class, a larger 7-inch COMAND screen running on Merc's new operating system and satellite navigation complete the list of changes.
