The official images of the 2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour have leaked ahead of the scheduled unveil later today in Berlin (8 PM CET). The duo employs an evolutionary design which is made lively by the two-tone paint theme with black alloy wheels.
The design is influenced by the Smart FourJoy design concept which was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013. Headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights and larger rear combination lights are the first design highlights.
Inside, the new Smarts boast of a futuristic dashboard design with popped-out AC vents, floating touchscreen on the centre console and a prominent semi circular instrument cluster with a color display. The city cars come with exclusively developed Harman speakers by JBL.
Mechanically, the 2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour share a lot of components with the Renault Twingo, thanks to the technical partnership with the French car maker. Both the cars adopt the rear engined rear-wheel-drive layout. The new Smart ForTwo would continue to be produced at the Mercedes-owned brand's factory in Hambach, France, while the ForFour would be made alongside the Twingo at Renault's plant in Slovenia.
The Smarts will be launched in Europe in Autumn 2014 and more details of them will be updated post the unveil.
