Skoda will unveil the next generation 2015 Skoda Fabia at the Paris Motor Show this October. Based on an extensively reengineered platform of the current generation model, the new Fabia will get Skoda's new design identity like the large grille, slim headlights and C-Shaped taillight graphic.
According to the new report on Automobile Magazine, Skoda chose to debut the new Fabia in Paris as the current Fabia is the best selling Skoda in France.
The new Fabia will most probably carry over its engines from the current generation model. These include three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel motors displacing between 1.0-liter and 1.6-liters. An RS variant is out of contention for the new Fabia.
Plans to introduce the new generation Fabia are not of high priority to Skoda India. The current generation Fabia turned out loss making for the company's Indian operations due to its low levels of localization and poor demand. Skoda India's head, Mr. Sudhir Rao, said in a recent interview that the sub-Rapid segment would be considered only after the end of next year.
Competitors: VW Polo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Tata Bolt
Expected Price: INR 5-8 lakhs, ex-Showroom
