Available as a 4-door sedan and 5-door liftback bodystyles.
Following its quiet unveil to prospective customers in Thailand, SAIC-owned MG has finally launched the facelifted MG6 in two bodystyles: a 4-door sedan and 5-door fastback. The facelift promises better interior build quality, upgraded equipment and more dynamic styling than before.
The 2015 MG6 has a sportier front bumper with redesigned air inlets, integrated boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lamps, and a sleek upper grille housing the iconic MG octagonal logo. The headlamp and taillight clusters now feature revised internal clusters. The rear bumpers of both sedan and liftback are also facelifted for a more dynamic look.
The interior of the 2015 MG6 has undergone a slight overhaul, with respect to the build quality and equipment. It gets a new instrument cluster, silver accents around the HVAC vents, new door handle design and an electronic parking brake. A new 7-inch infotainment display with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, an audio system with USB/AUX ports and 8-speakers, and MG's new inkaNet feature, which allows the driver to monitor the vehicle via a smartphone, round up the equipment list.
MG has dropped the naturally aspirated 133 hp 1.8-liter engine for the facelifted MG6, thus leaving it only with a 1.8 Turbo. It produces 161 hp at 5,500 rpm and 215 Nm between 2,000-4,500 rpm through a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The MG6 also boasts of safety features such as Curve Brake Control, Hill Start Assist, tire pressure monitoring system, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control.
The 2015 MG6 sedan is priced between 818,000 baht - 1.028 million baht (INR 15.02 - 18.9 Lakhs) while the MG6 Fastback is priced from 828,000 baht - 1.038 million baht (INR 15.2 - 19.1 Lakhs).
