Ford has announced the production-spec 2015 Ford Escort sedan that is expected to be launched at the 2014 Guangzhou Motor Show (will take place from November 20).
Based on the Ford Focus, the car follows Ford's current design philosophy, making it instantly recognizable. It features the Aston Martin-like grille, a familiar set of headlights, and characteristic Ford design lines.
Inside, the cabin is plain and simple, which helps the Escort stick to the target price point. Keeping the occupants safe and entertained are 6 airbags and Connect Radio infotainment system with Bluetooth playback functionality respectively. However, the Chinese variants will compromise on the features that are present in its other American siblings for lower costs.
Under the hood, it gets a 1.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol engine that outputs 112 bhp, and it is mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. So far, no official performance figures have been shared.
