The new Q7, not carrying forward a single body panel or chassis member, adopts the latest family design which was previewed by more than one Audi concept before debuting in the Q3 facelift. The pronounced chrome finished hexagonal Singleframe grille, edgier LED headlamps and a revised bonnet makes the new luxury 7-seater lower than the model it replaces.

When viewed from the sides, the silhouette and greenhouse remain more or less unchanged. The crease which originates from the headlamp and runs all the way up to the taillight is accentuated stronger than before and there is a chrome rub strip running on the lower part of the doors. The contours on the flared wheel arches are revised too.

The rear fascia now hosts elements with clean lines in place of the existing Q7's round edged counterparts; the rear windshield is almost a proper rectangle and so are the LED combination lamps. The tailgate is reprofiled with a new license plate enclosure while the bumper features rectangular dual exhausts in place of circular units.

The interior of the new gen car is nothing like the present Q7. The dashboard design is completely new with camouflaged AC vents, a style which was first seen on the VW Passat. The MMI display stands out on the centre console and an LCD display phases out the instrument dials.
