VW will also introduce a sub-4 meter sedan based on the Polo platform in 2016-17. The sub-4 meter car is codenamed 'Polo Stuffe' internally. Mahesh Kodumudi, Managing Director of VW India, said that a decision will be made soon on the Polo Stuffe. Apart from the sub-4 meter sedan segment, VW will also enter the sub-4 meter SUV segment with the Taigun.

The Polo facelift had its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year. The facelift brings about minor changes to the design of the hatchback: The front end gets a new bumper with smaller foglight housings while the rear end sees minor tweaks to the bumper and taillights. The headlights are given different mirror elements, and on the European model, customers have the option of choosing LED headlights.

Mechanically, VW would offer a 1.5-liter diesel engine on the Polo, and the same engine would be used on the refreshed Vento. The 1.5-liter engine would be offered in two power states of 80 bhp and 104 bhp, the higher of which will be reserved for the GT variant.
