Peugeot has just removed the wraps on the Peugeot 408 for the Chinese market. The sedan is based on the latest generation 308 that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September.
The 408 sedan for China gets the same large centrally-placed 'floating' grille surrounded by chrome and full LED headlamps. As for the rear, the curved taillights that was on the 308 have been favoured on the sedan as well.
The 408 will be manufactured in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture and will have 3 engine options. First up is a 1.6-liter engine that makes 117 hp, a turbocharged version of the same engine that makes 163 hp and a 1.8-liter making 140 hp.
Like the Citroen C4L and the Peugeot 308, the 408 sedan is underpinned by the EMP2 platform.
